BC rider levy increase
2017 SW Regional Series Entry Fees
We would like to update you on revised charges that will be introduced for BMX events in 2017 and which are designed to bring BMX in line with all other disciplines under the umbrella of British Cycling. For events taking place on 1 April 2017 or later, a levy per rider at the standard BC levy rate will be introduced. This revision is needed to ensure that BMX contributes fairly towards BC’s competition management and insurance costs.
British Cycling Race Levy Costs – Regional Racing
- Senior (>16) – £3.00 per entry
- Youth (<17) – £1.50 per entry
These costs are commensurate with the rate applied to competition in other disciplines. The current rates have remained unchanged since 2004.
As a committee we have decided to implement a flat fee of £1.50 per entrant, regardless of age, for the South West BMX Regional Series 2017. We feel that this is the best and fairest way to adopt these extra charges. The additional revenues due to BC (based on the extra charges for riders over 16 years of age) will be absorbed by the existing fees. These fees will apply for Round 2 onwards, with Round 1 at Exeter taking place before the levies are imposed.
