Regional Coaching Team

It gives us great pleasure to announce the SW Regional Coaching Team for 2017.

Tim Sampson (Tiverton) will fill the role as Team Manager and take responsibility for managing and organising the Cluster Sessions, Regional Schools of Racing and the end of season Inter Regional. Tim is the current Chairman of Tiverton BMX club and is also the Vice-Chairman of the South West BMX Association.

Working alongside Tim will be two of the leading coaches within the region – Dan Hodge (Bristol) and Sam Leggett (Tiverton).

Dan has been racing regionally and nationally for 17 years as part of Bristol BMX club. Within those years of racing he has achieved multiple Regional and SW Championship titles, qualified for many World Championships and was National Champion in 2008. He is actively involved in Bristol BMX club as a committee member and head coach. Alongside Bristol BMX, Dan is also the manager of the well known team “Psykopath Industries” which competes both Regionally and Nationally.

Like Dan, Sam has been racing regionally and nationally for over 17 years. Sam has qualified for World Championships and ridden with much success at Regional and National levels and was involved in British Cycling’s original talent team programme. Sam is well known throughout the region for his coaching, having carried out sessions at most clubs. Sam was involved with the Regional Coaching Team in 2016 and his knowledge of the regions riders will be especially important in helping to develop and improve their skills. As well as coaching Sam can also be seen helping out on racedays being trackside commissairing.

Over the coming weeks the team will put together the calendar for the season with a cluster session coming to a track near you.

The Regional School of Racing dates have been confirmed as:
