2017 British Championships Update

The Bristol regional this weekend sees the 6th of 10 rounds taking place in the South West Regional Series this year.

If any Novice riders are considering riding at the British Championships in Derby over the August Bank Holiday weekend, then you need to move to Expert class this weekend in order to make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria to race.

Riders need to compete in five South West Regionals at Expert level to qualify for the British Championships. If you wish to ride a cruiser class as well (or vice versa), then you must have also ridden three Regionals on that bike.

For those riders that rode at the Brits last year and are intending to ride again this year, you will receive a replacement sticker with your 2017 regional ranking and respective side plate. For those riders that didn’t compete last season, but who will be riding at the Brits you will receive a Maikun race plate (and sticker) with your 2017 regional ranking and respective side plate. Replacement plates can be ordered at cost.

If you ride up an age group at National level then you must ride that class at the British Championships.

All riders must wear the official South West Race shirt – the design was finalised at the Tiverton regional and can be seen here: xxxx.

We will start taking orders for the new shirts at Round 7 in Decoy.

All riders eligible to ride at the British Championships (have ridden five rounds of the 2017 SW Regional Series) can buy the shirt for £10. For any other riders, parents or supporters who would like to show their colours, the shirts are priced at £20.

Don’t forget the Riders Parade – Green is the colour!!!
